22 Street Fighter Amiibo Cards Cost The Same As Single Amiibo Figures

One of the cool things about Amiibo figures is that they don't just look good; they also offer some neat extras inside of a game, and for Street Fighter 6 fans, those collectibles offer quite a bit of useful functionality. While Amiibo figures have received exponential price increases ahead of the launch of the Switch 2 console in June, there is a "budget-friendly" alternative in the form of Amiibo Cards, and for Street Fighter 6, you can get 22 of these in a handy pack. The Street Fighter 6: Year One Collection Amiibo Cards will be available exclusively through GameStop, and it's currently priced at $40--the same price as a single Street Fighter 6 Amiibo.

In case you need a reminder, here's the full roster of characters from Street Fighter 6's first year, who'll all have their cards in the pack:

Street Fighter 6 Amiibo Cards
  • Luke
  • Jamie
  • Manon
  • Kimberly
  • Marisa
  • Lily
  • JP
  • Juri
  • Dee Jay
  • Cammy
  • Ryu
  • E.Honda
  • Blanka
  • Guile
  • Ken
  • Chunk-Li
  • Zangief
  • Dhalsim
  • Rashid
  • AKI
  • Ed
  • Akuma

If you do want to grab some Street Fighter 6 Amiibos, there are three to choose from currently. Luke, Kimberly, and Jamie have all gotten the plastic collectible treatment, and the nice thing about these figures is that they echo the visual design language of Street Fighter 6. Each one is priced at $40, and like the cards, you can use them to access character-specific settings.

Street Fighter 6 Amiibo
In case you haven't tried it out yet, Street Fighter 6 is also available for preorder on Switch 2 . This bundle will include the full game and all DLC characters released during the first two years of the game, including recent additions to the roster like M Bison, Terry Bogard, Mai, and Elena. This will be a Switch 2 launch title, and it'll come with two new game modes--Gyro Battle and Calorie Contest--and Capcom says it's aiming to have the game run at a smooth 60fps.

One thing to note is that Street Fighter 6 is a Game-Key Card, which means that the cartridge acts as an authentication key. You'll need to download the game directly onto your Switch 2 after a one-time internet check-in to see that the device is legit, and you'll be free to play offline afterwards so long as the cartridge remains inserted. You can also resell these cartridges in case you want to move on from the game, as they are not locked to your Switch 2 console.

Street Fighter: The Animated Series

While you're waiting for your Switch 2 console and Street Fighter 6 game to arrive, you can also preorder the old-school--and weird--Street Fighter animated series from the '90s. Discotek recently gathered all 26 episodes from the series onto Blu-ray, and it comes with several nice bonus features like an art gallery, game-inspired menus, and commentary tracks featuring the voices of several notable people in the fighting game community. Priced at $40, it'll be released on May 27.

Alternatively, you can grab a few Street Fighter Blu-rays right now to kill some time with. The 1994 live-action movie starring Raul Julia as M. Bison and Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile is available in both a standard and a collector's steelbook edition, while the superb Street Fighter 2 anime movie recently got upgraded to 4K and looks better than ever.
