A Wild Bug Causing Cars To Float In Gran Turismo 7 Is Being Investigated

Gran Turismo 7's newest update has caused some unintentionally funny glitches and developer Polyphony Digital is investigating the issue.

The game's 1.49 update was released yesterday and was supposed to change its driving physics, improving aspects such as tire response on cars and more natural weight shifting during cornering. However, (via IGN) players realized that the cars ended up doing things like bouncing and even disappearing into the racetracks.

As shown in the videos, cars are bouncing around like inflatables, sinking into the ground, and blasting off in the air like rockets. It's a pretty goofy contrast given that Gran Turismo is a realistic driving simulator.

The developer put out a statement on Twitter saying that its aware of the situation and described it as "unintended vehicle behavior is ]produced] when a particular car setting is set within Car Settings." So now, the studio is currently looking into the problem and has apologized for any inconvenience.

Gran Turismo 7 is available for PS4 and PS5, and its creator has expressed interest in bringing the series to PC sometime in the future. In GameSpot's Gran Turismo 7 review, we said, "Frenetic racing, stunning looks, and some faces in discs bring Gran Turismo to the next generation, and it's… exactly what you think it's going to be."
