Activision has debuted a new communications channel for the Call of Duty series to talk directly to fans about whatever the topic of the day might be for the popular FPS franchise.
The Call of Duty CM account launched in February of this year. The account is run by the Call of Duty franchise's community teams, along with "some friends," Activision said.
"We're just getting started. Stand by," the account's description reads. The account says its location is in the "comments section." In reality, the account is based in the US.
Activision had already been communicating with fans through the official Call of Duty social channels and other sources, but this is the first major Call of Duty account focused specifically on communicating with fans about hot topics. There is also a CODUpdates account, which provides rundowns on issues and updates with Call of Duty games.
Regarding the new Call of Duty CM account, Activision didn't say why it created the new account, but the company has certainly had a lot to discuss with fans recently. 2025's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was seen as a misfire for the franchise. Prior to its launch, Activision made a number of major announcements about it--including how there would be no wacky skins--to help improve sentiment in the competition against Battlefield 6. Activision also said it would no longer release back-to-back entries in the same sub-franchise in consecutive years.
More recently, Activision made its case for why leaks are bad for players and developers alike, following the news that Activision reportedly threatened legal action against a Call of Duty leak account. Activision released its statement on leaks on a YouTuber's account in the comments section, but it's possible future statements like this could come from the Call of Duty CM page.
A new Call of Duty game is expected to release this year, and it's rumored to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from developer Infinity Ward. Beyond new installments in the main series, Activision continues to evolve the battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone. On March 12, Activision will release Black Ops Royale, a new version of Warzone based on the original Call of Duty battle royale game, Blackout.
