Another GTA 6 Delay Would Make Game "Cooler," But I Wouldn't Pay $100 For It, Actor Says

Actor Jay Klaitz, who famously portrayed Lester in Grand Theft Auto 5, has weighed in with more thoughts on Grand Theft Auto 6, saying another delay could make the game "cooler." He also said he hopes the game does not launch at $100, but instead a price point that's more "accessible."

Speaking to El Dorado, Klaitz said if Rockstar were to delay GTA 6 again, that would only make the game better. He said he enjoyed working with Rockstar's performance director, Rod Edge, on GTA 5, and if a delay meant Edge or someone like him had "the time they need," that would be a good thing.

"It could have been another month or another five months or six months or whatever. It's going to be cool," he said (via GamesRadar).

GTA 6 was originally scheduled to launch in Fall 2025 before being delayed to May 2026 and then again to November 19, 2026. The game's marketing push will begin this summer, giving the signal that the game's newest release date is actually going to stick. Of course, anything could happen.

The official word from Rockstar about the newest delay for GTA 6 was that the team needed more time to finish the game "with the level of polish" that fans expect and deserve.

Also in the interview, Klaitz said he would not pay $100 for GTA 6 or any other game. Instead, Klaitz said he hopes GTA 6 comes in at a price point that is "accessible to all players." He personally believes this, but he acknowledged "that's not the reality of what will happen."

He also joked that if Lester the character got to decide, he would price GTA 6 lower than expected so that people would get hooked and then end up spending even more with GTA Online.

Before this, Klaitz said GTA 6 warrants a $100 price tag because "you're almost buying multiple games when you buy the one," referring to the game's expected ongoing updates and online mode.

The discussion around a possible $100 price for GTA 6 stems back to researcher Matthew Ball, who said in a memo in January 2025 that "there is hope" from people in gaming that GTA 6 could be priced between $80 and $100. He pointed out that, adjusted for inflation, GTA 4 was priced at $90 and GTA 5 was $83. Things like movie tickets, rent, subscription services like Spotify and Netflix, gas, groceries, and numerous other items have gone up in price while video games have remained at "record lows," Ball said. His own personal prediction is that GTA 6 will be priced at $70.

Klaitz, who was born in Florida, also discussed GTA 6's setting of Leonida, which is a stand-in for Florida. One major tourist attraction in Florida is Walt Disney World, and Klaitz said he wonders if Rockstar will create its own, legally distinct version of Disney World that could be called "Psycho Park."

"That would be interesting too if they sort of delve into that environment," he said.
