Astro Bot Gets New Challenge Levels And Revised Controller

Sony's State of Play on June 5 didn't exclude the company's biggest video game hero of 2024, Astro Bot. The little robot will be back this summer in Astro Bot's five new challenge levels that will raise the number of planets in the game to 90.

In a follow-up post by Team Asobi, four out of the five levels were given names: Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, and High Inflation. The fifth level is a secret for now. The post also suggested that finishing all 90 planets in the Vicious Void "might lead to something really cool."

Since it's an Astro Bot tradition to introduce new bots, the new levels are no exception. Aside from teasing "a revengeful newcomer," the identities of the new bots are being withheld for now. As with the previous Astro Bot updates, the new DLC will be available for free on July 10.

In other Astro Bot-related news, Sony revealed that an updated version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller will be arriving later in 2025. Team Asobi teased that it won't be exactly the same as the previous Astro Bot controller, and mentioned that it will have "a new joyful twist to the touch pad."
