Astro's Playroom Gets Surprise Update Tied To Upcoming Sequel

Astro's Playroom has received a surprise 1.900.000 update that adds new Trophies to unlock, as well as additional content tied to Astro's next adventure in the upcoming Astro Bot.

A new portal has appeared in PlayStation Labo, the game's central hub. Special bots have also appeared in the game's four main different areas for Astro to rescue. Both of them are seemingly connected to the next entry in the series, Astro Bot. There are also new in-game gatcha items to collect and Trophies to unlock.

The five Trophies involve rescuing each of the four special bots, with the last one earned after rescuing all of them.

Astro's Playroom was released in 2020 for PS5 and came pre-installed with every console sold. In GameSpot's Astro's Playroom review, we said, "Transcending its role as an introduction to the PS5’s features, Astro’s Playroom is a quick and delightful celebration of PlayStation’s history."

Astro Bot, the third entry in the series, is releasing for PS5 in September. It's also the biggest game that developer Team Asobi has created so far, and it includes many cameos from other PlayStation franchises, like Bloodborne. Those who preorder a physical copy of the game will receive a cute poster to go along with it.
