Ball X Pit Is Rolling, With 400,000 Copies Sold In First Week

The first week for Ball X Pit was pretty good, according to Devolver Digital and developer Kenny Sun. They rolled out statistics for the action-roguelite game and revealed it's sold over 400,000 copies so far. Keep in mind that Ball X Pit is available on Xbox Game Pass, too, a subscription service that doesn't account for traditional sales.

On X, the official Ball X Pit account shared the first-week numbers. Other notable highlights for the game--which launched October 15--include hitting 34,500 peak concurrent players, becoming the No. 4 top-played title on Steam Deck, and surpassing 1.3 million hours of viewership on Twitch.

Ball X Pit has drawn comparisons to Vampire Survivors, Loop Hero, and Balatro. The fast-paced, brick-breaking game sees players using and fusing 60-plus balls to defeat foes. In addition, when not blasting baddies, Ball X Pit is about reconstructing Ballbylon with more than 70 building units. Doing so leads to new power-ups as well as characters to utilize.

Currently available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch, Ball X Pit is planned to release this fall on Switch 2 as well. That said, Ball X Pit is playable right now on Switch 2 thanks to backward compatibility. Last but not least, if you're curious how to pronounce the game's name, apparently you ignore the X.
