Battlefield 6 California Resistance Update - How To Unlock All New Weapons And Items

Season 1's new California Resistance update is live in Battlefield 6. This update introduces the new Eastwood multiplayer map, two guns, a new attachment, and an event pass with more rewards to unlock. In this guide, we'll show you how to complete the California Resistance challenges and unlock all the new loadout gear for Battlefield 6.

The California Resistance update adds the DB-12 shotgun and the M357 Trait sidearm as two new weapons in the game, and the Slim Handstop is the season's latest attachment. All three items can be unlocked for free, and here's how you can earn each of them.

How to unlock the DB-12

DB-12 shotgun
The DB-12 is described as a dual-barrel pump-action shotgun that feeds from two different tubes. One trigger pull fires a shell (or slug) from one barrel, while a second trigger pull fires the other, then the pump action rechambers both barrels.

This DB-12 shotgun is unlocked for free as part of the new California Resistance event pass. There are 11 rewards in the pass, and this will be the final item you unlock.

How to unlock the M357 Trait

M357 Trait unlock challenge
The M357 Trait is Season 1's powerful new revolver. This is a high damage, eight-round revolver, which is balanced by a low rate of fire.

The M357 Trait sidearm is unlocked by completing a new hardware challenge for Season 1. This is found under the Season 1 challenge tab, and it requires you to complete two objectives:

  • Get 30 kills with the GGH-22 or M44 sidearms
  • Get 5 headshot kills with pistols

How to unlock the Slim Handstop

Slim Handstop unlock challenge
The Slim Handstop is a new grip designed to offer an alternative to underbarrel attachments. It's described as providing a "unique blend of ergonomic and handling changes."

The Slim Handstop is unlocked by completing a new hardware challenge. This is found under the Season 1 challenge tab, and it requires you to complete two objectives:

  • Deal 1,500 hip-fire damage
  • Get 50 close-quarter kills (meaning at less than 15 meters)

The California Resistance update also brings a major change to aim-assist, which the developer says should make aiming "feel smoother and more predictable." Make sure to check out the full patch notes for Battlefield 6's 1.1.2.0 update for all the new changes.
