Battlefield 6's open beta returns on August 14 for its second and final weekend of testing, and now Battlefield Studios has outlined what to expect, including playlist changes, a nice new feature, and more.
For Weekend 2, more playlists will rotate between different game modes. For example, the All-Out Warfare playlist will feature Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush for the second weekend.
"Rotating through multiple modes within playlists helps us understand what our community enjoys as we shape the launch experience, and enables us to keep more fan-favorite modes available at the same time," Battlefield Studios said.
Additionally, the developer is adding a "Custom Search" option to help players find the maps and modes they want to play. This is not a server browser, however--that will be limited to Portal mode, which is not part of the beta test. Instead, you can input your preferences to Custom Search, and matchmaking will prioritize your choices--but not guarantee them. As an example, players can request to play Conquest on Siege of Cairo, and if the combination is available, you'll be placed in a match.
In terms of the specific playlists, Battlefield Studios published an overview, which you can see below. It includes different maps and modes on August 14, 15, 16, and 17. The developer said a daily playlist rotation like this is only for the open beta and is not planned for the full release in October.
Finally, Battlefield Studios said players at rank 15 and below can try Initiation Mode, which is populated with AI soldiers to help players learn the ropes. This will include both Breakthrough and Conquest modes.
The Battlefield 6 open beta begins again on Thursday, August 14, starting at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET. The full game, meanwhile, is slated for release on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
