Blackpink Are Teaming Up With PUBG

The recently retitled PUBG: Battlegrounds has announced that it is teaming up with hyper-popular K-pop group Blackpink in an event starting this month.


The PUBG x Blackpink collaboration was shared on Twitter (below) with a short announcement video soundtracked by the group's iconic song, "How You Like That". A number of elements will be added to the game as part of the collaboration including purchasable items, cosmetic map tweaks, and in-game event missions.

Starting today, a range of different Blackpink cosmetic items will be available for purchase in-game until the end of 2021. In total, there will be thirty-five different cosmetics with each member of the K-pop group - Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose - having their own bundles. Included inside the bundles, are themed hairstyles, nameplates, helmets, outfits, weapons, and more.

The Blackpink collaboration event, which will run between August 18 and September 7, adds special in-game event missions that players can participate in to earn points that can be used to acquire exclusive Blackpink items. Included amongst the items, players will have the chance to get their hands on their very own in-game Level 3 Blackpink themed helmet as well as further contraband coupons.

To celebrate everything Blackpink across the duration of the collaboration, PUBG is releasing various themed elements across many of the game's maps. These will run between August 8 and September 7 for PC and August 12 and September 15 for consoles. Amongst the elements, players should expect to see Blackpink-themed decals on building walls, a Blackpink drop-plane tail and, themed supply crates.

The Blackpink themed collaboration isn't the only high-profile event to grace the battleground of late. Tottenham Hotspur footballer Son Heung Min recently entered into a collaboration with the game which added a "Sonny" skin to the game as well as other in-game items in the store and more.
