The next State of Play broadcast is coming up today, April 30, and this one is focused entirely on Borderlands 4. It promises to provide the best look at the game yet, with Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford saying the studio will show and discuss more of the game than fans have ever seen before.

What to expect​


Gearbox creative director Graeme Timmins will appear on the broadcast alongside senior project producer Anthony Nicholson to showcase 20+ minutes of "developer-guided gameplay." This will include a new look at missions, weapons, skills, new and returning characters, and more.

Borderlands 4 is set for release on September 12, which is a bit earlier than the game's previously announced September 23 release date. Gearbox brought the game's release forward due to the studio's confidence in the game and not to avoid a clash with another game. Prior to the shift, Borderlands 4 and Bungie's Marathon were both set to release on September 23.
