Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Teaser Video Points To Global Catastrophes Amid Rise Of AI

In the lead-up to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's big reveal on August 19, Activision has released a new in-universe teaser video that highlights "The Guild," which is a "global protection" company that creates "tech we can trust." Given the tone and nature of this video, it appears The Guild is actually the villain of the story and not an entity that can, in truth, be trusted.

The video features fake news headlines about humanity escalating toward a global catastrophe due to the rise of artificial intelligence, the bolstering of military powers, and the breakdown of global supply chains. The end of the video switches music and tone to say The Guild has all the answers and is the company to trust for the future of civilization. Of course, that's not likely to be the case.

The first Black Ops 7 trailer from June teased some kind of futuristic tech company, with Adam Mason visiting the offices of a powerful company with advanced technology. Activision created an entire teaser website for The Guild as well.

Black Ops 7's next big reveal is set for Tuesday, August 19 during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event. The full game, meanwhile, is rumored to launch in November for console and PC. It'll be available on Xbox Game Pass, and, for the first time since 2021, it'll launch the same year as a new Battlefield game, Battlefield 6.

Black Ops 7 follows Black Ops 6 in 2024, and this is the first time ever that Activision is releasing Black Ops games in back to back years. Treyarch and Raven Software, the two lead developers on Black Ops 6, are also the lead developers on Black Ops 7.
