Cronos: The New Dawn Gameplay Reveals The Horror Of Time Travel

Last year, Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2 recaptured the spirit of the classic survival-horror game. This year, Bloober Team is following that title with Cronos: The New Dawn, an original sci-fi/horror game. Now, Bloober Team has offered fans an advance look at Cronos' gameplay, which may remind some players of Dead Space.

Cronos puts players in the role of a Traveler who has gone back in time to extract human survivors from the aftermath of an apocalypse. In this timeline, the end of the world happened in the 1980s, and mankind's survival depends on the Traveler's ability to rescue key individuals from the past.

Unlike Silent Hill 2's James Sunderland, the Traveler is very well-armed. However, the monstrous creatures known as Orphans are also more formidable. Their bodies are made of human flesh, and the trailer warns players not to let the Orphans merge. When that inevitably happens, even the Traveler's arsenal may not be enough to put the merged creatures down.

Cronos: The New Dawn will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC later this year. Bloober Team is also working on an adaptation of Skybound Entertainment's comic, I Hate This Place, which doesn't currently have a release window. Earlier this year, Bloober Team also signed a new deal with Konami to work on another title for the publisher. That game has yet to be revealed.
