Fable Reboot Has No Multiplayer, Not Coming To Switch 2

Playground Games has published a new FAQ for the upcoming Fable reboot that answers a series of key questions about the RPG, including whether or not there will be multiplayer and if it's coming to Switch.

While many games are adopting multiplayer modes and features, the new Fable reboot is not. The FAQ confirms that the game is a "single-player open-world action-RPG" with no multiplayer.

The FAQ also outlines the game's platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and "Game Pass." There was no specific mention of PC, but that's probably covered by Game Pass. The game already has a Steam page. The FAQ also does not mention Switch 2 as a supported platform. Recently, a report said a Switch 2 version is not in development but could be considered for later on.

Another detail in the FAQ is how the Fable reboot will have "enough British wit to make your mum blush," which is a reference to how the game will be very British. The FAQ also states that the new game is not a continuation of the original trilogy of Fable games from the since-shuttered studio Lionhead.

"Though the game we're making is very much faithful to the spirit of the classic Lionhead trilogy, Fable is a new beginning for the Fable franchise and isn't a continuation of the original games," the FAQ stated.

What's more, the FAQ confirms that the Fable reboot will be available on Game Pass Ultimate at launch, but not the lower-priced tiers of the service.

The new Fable launches this fall, but a specific release date has not been announced. It's not the only game from Playground that's set for release this year, as Forza Horizon 6 is releasing in May.

Whereas Forza Horizon 6 is not coming to PS5 until after the game arrives on Xbox and PC, the Fable reboot will hit PS5 day-and-date with the other versions.
