The newest trailer for GTA 6 has arrived. Out of nowhere, Rockstar Games dropped the trailer today, May 6, showing off a new look at the open-world crime game set in Vice City. Rockstar released this trailer just a few days after the company delayed GTA 6 to May 2026.
This is GTA 6's second trailer, following a first trailer that arrived all the way back in December 2023. The fine print at the conclusion of this one notes it was captured on PS5.
Rockstar also released the first official story description for GTA 6, and the story involves main characters Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos getting mixed up in a conspiracy after a heist went wrong.
"Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida--forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive," reads a line from the game's description.
The official GTA 6 website got an extensive update, too, and it's now stocked with official screenshots, story details, and more for the game. For a closer look, we've also rounded up a ton of GTA 6 screenshots for you to peruse.
The trailer showcases a variety of new characters, action, and vehicles. A number of GTA staples, including specific vehicles and the return of Ammu-Nation, make an appearance. We also see a Fast Five-esque sequence where a safe is being dragged down the street by a car, among many other very GTA-like details.
GTA 6 launches on May 26, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It was originally slated to debut in Fall 2025 but Rockstar said it needed more time to finish the game. There's no word yet on Switch 2 or PC support, although a PC version is expected to come at some point after the initial console launch.
