The video confirmed that the game's story will focus on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, after the couple was seen a bit in the first trailer that debuted in late 2023. Another fascinating aspect of the second trailer is Rockstar noting that it was captured on PS5--as well as some PlayStation references.
Days before the trailer dropped, Rockstar revealed that Grand Theft Auto VI would be delayed to May 26, 2026. Previously, the game was set to arrive this fall. However, there was always skepticism about that release window because Rockstar has a lengthy history of delays.
Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated video games ever. One research company believes the Rockstar title could sell 40 million copies and make $3 billion dollars after just a year. Meanwhile, Circana believed Grand Theft Auto VI would help the overall gaming industry bounce back this year, along with Switch 2's launch, before the game was pushed back to 2026.
So far, Grand Theft Auto VI is only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though a PC version is expected later down the road. Meanwhile, Digital Foundry doesn't believe the game will come to Switch 2 and even speculates it may not run on Steam Deck.
