GTA 6 Unlikely To Feature This Longtime In-Game Radio Host

Lazlow Jones, the voice of DJ Lazlow from GTA 3 on, has said he doubts he'll appear in GTA 6. That should be no surprise as Jones quit Rockstar in 2020 and now works with Rockstar founder Dan Houser--who also left in 2020--at his new company Absurd Ventures.

"We left in 2020, so I doubt it," Jones told Nerd Reactor about appearing in GTA 6 (via VideoGamer). "I loved working on those games with Dan. I was on the radio in GTA 3 and all the GTAs after that. It was an amazing journey working on GTA for 20 years."

Jones was also a producer, director, and writer on the GTA series over the years. He now holds the title of executive producer, writer, and director at Absurd Ventures.

Jones said Absurd Ventures has the "creative vibe and grit" that reminds him of the early days at Rockstar, with multiple projects in the works at the same time.

Absurd's projects thus far have included the audio fiction series A Better Paradise featuring The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln, along with the comic series American Caper.

While Lazlow may not be featured in GTA 6, it's been reported that Rockstar recruited real-life musicians like Drake and DJ Khaled.

Another former Rockstar veteran, Leslie Benzies, recently launched a new game, MindsEye--and it didn't go over so well.

As for GTA 6, the game is set for release in May 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's possible parent publisher Take-Two will share more information about the game during the company's earnings briefing on August 7. Keep checking back with GameSpot for the latest.
