The Casting of Frank Stone puts you in the shoes of several characters. Some are out to make a movie, while others attempt to discover the significance of the films that they possess. These journeys intertwine, leading down a perilous path where it's possible for everyone to perish. With numerous cutscenes, quick-time events (QTEs), and branching narrative arcs, you might be wondering just how long it takes to beat The Casting of Frank Stone. Well, read on to find out.

How long is The Casting of Frank Stone?

The Casting of Frank Stone is set in the Dead By Daylight universe. It has 14 chapters of varying length--some offer only an introduction to each setting, while others are more expansive romps that can take over an hour to complete. There are even those that have short scenes that are easily completed.

On the average, you can expect to beat The Casting of Frank Stone in roughly 8-10 hours. And, yes, you're likely to find numerous collectibles along the way, such as the 12 Reliks and 12 Trinkets, as well as the 30 Artifacts.

We feel that the campaign itself is slightly longer compared to previous offerings from Supermassive Games, such as Man of Medan, Little Hope, and House of Ashes, which can usually be completed in around five hours.

You'll get to control several characters, such as Madison and Linda, in The Casting of Frank Stone.

Below, you can see the list of the chapters in The Casting of Frank Stone. To avoid spoilers, we're not going to mention what happens in each chapter, but we can tell you that the first one takes place in 1963, as it provides a backdrop to the narrative arc.

  • Chapter 1: The Burning Maw
  • Chapter 2: In the House of Darkness
  • Chapter 3: A Curiosity on Main Street
  • Chapter 4: These Walls Have Eyes
  • Chapter 5: The Phantom of Cedar Steel

The Cutting Room Floor is a more expansive take on the Scene Selection feature from Supermassive Games' previous offerings.

The Casting of Frank Stone - Using the Cutting Room Floor to discover all branching paths

The Casting of Frank Stone's game length is extended by the Cutting Room Floor feature. This can be unlocked by beating the story mode once, or right from the get-go if you own the Deluxe edition.

This feature is akin to the Scene Selection feature in Supermassive Games' previous releases, but it's more expansive. In it, you can see the potential branching paths in chapters and scenes, including collectibles that you might have missed. Likewise, it gives you a clue regarding character death scenes that you've yet to discover. So, even after a straightforward playthrough, you can retry a few moments in the game to make the right (or wrong) decisions that will, eventually, lead you to a desired outcome. You still need to rewatch a lot of moments, though, due to unskippable cutscenes.

Lastly, there's the "All Seeing" Achievement/Trophy, which requires you to unlock all branches in the Cutting Room Floor. There are a whopping 224 branches, with different permutations and requirements, so the whole endeavor could take more than 20 hours.
