Everything about Fortnite battle royale is different in the game's first-ever Star Wars season--just look at the new loot pool, which is entirely made up of energy weapons that don't use ammo, something Fortnite has never done before. Another fun quirk is that the story quests for Star Wars season don't hold your hand quite as much as the story quests usually do. In fact, the game doesn't even tell you what the quests are--it just mentions that there are quests, and puts a lot of circles on the updated map to indicate the general area where you can find them. Like this:
Completing this season's story quests requires a little more effort than usual.
Since the quests are hidden, it can be tough to tell how many there even are or whether you've done everything that's currently available. If you're trying to be efficient with your leveling, trying to do these quests might be a little bit irritating. But don't worry, we've got all the details you need for this first round of seasonal storytelling.
Right now we have five story quests, none of which is very difficult or requires much time, and you can do them in any order you want, but you'll have to find them first. So let's go through them.
First up is Poe Dameron's quest to destroy objects with an X-Wing's lasers. The first thing you'll need to do is find Poe at the Resistance Base in the northwest corner of the map, where Whiffy Warf used to be. Talk to him at the marked location above to activate the quest, and then use any X-Wing on the island to blow up 25 objects. Fortunately, the Resistance Base is home to a couple of them. Once you've completed the object, return to Poe to close out the quest.
After that we have a quest to deliver a lightsaber to General Grievous, which you'll need to activate by chatting with the evil cyborg--he's hanging out midway between Seaport City and Masked Meadows, just north of the old black market outpost. Once you've started the quest, you just need to retrieve a padawan lightsaber and bring it back to him. The easiest way to do this is to visit a training hologram of a Star Wars character and have them train you and give you a saber, but looting one off an enemy player should also work. Once you've returned the lightsaber to Grievous, the quest is done.
Next up is a mission to repair a damaged TIE Fighter that's lying on its side next to the road just south of Flooded Frogs. When you arrive at the spot, the first thing you'll need to do is click on the terminal that will be marked with a quest icon when you get close enough. Then you'll need to gather three barrels of fuel, which are nearby and similarly marked, then click on the TIE itself to get it working again. When you're done, you'll have a working TIE Fighter that you can fly around in.
The fourth quest is to click on a series of four stormtrooper data logs, all of which are located at Vader Samurai's Solitude in the southwest corner of the island. When you're in that place, the locations of the datalogs will be marked on your mini-map and will also show up in the general UI, so they won't be too difficult to find.
Lastly, we've got a quest to click on four Rebel data logs, which are more spread out than the stormtrooper ones. One is just to the northwest of Brutal Boxcars, one is near the previously discussed broken TIE Fighter south of Flooded Frogs, one is in the Resistance Base, and the last one is on a road intersection next to the Burd station midway between Shiny Shafts and the Resistance Base.
Those are all the story quests you can do right now, but there will be many more as the season moves along--expect more story quests on a weekly basis.
