How To Get The Red Crown In The Closed Exhibit In Blue Prince

Are you wondering about how to get the Red Crown in the Closed Exhibit in Blue Prince? This particular room might seem imposing at first glance, especially since there's a security system that bars access. Still, there's a way to circumvent this system, allowing you to grab your reward.

How to get the Red Crown in the Closed Exhibit in Blue Prince

The Closed Exhibit is one of the game's Floorplans, which means it's not available by default. Instead, you need to obtain it by unlocking the Study Room Safe. Once you have it, it has a chance to appear as a drafting option when you draw your set of rooms.

If it's your first time entering the room, then you'll notice the Red Crown in the middle of the platform. There are also cardboard standees of security guards. You simply won't be able to make it near the item since you can't hop the barricade.

Where is the clue for the Closed Exhibit Puzzle?

The clue for the Blue Prince Closed Exhibit Puzzle comes from the Safehouse, which you can access by sailing on the boat in the Reservoir. Inside the Safehouse, you'll find a Sanctum Key, several documents, and a curious looking map about a planned heist.

If you look closely at the left-hand side of the map, you'll see a museum room called the Closed Exhibit. At the back end, someone wrote down that there's a security panel.

The map of the heist has a clue for the Closed Exhibit, albeit an illustration that's quite tiny.

Closed Exhibit Puzzle solution

To complete this task, you just need to remember how you activated the Foundation elevator. You have to place the Closed Exhibit, and then draft rooms around it/toward its walled area. The room that's adjacent to this section must have a pathway even though it's blocked. Here's an example:

  • The Closed Exhibit is in row 2, column 2. Its walled-off section is at the left side.
  • You need to have a room in row 2, column 1. This room must have a door/opening toward the right--i.e. it's supposed to lead to the Closed Exhibit even if it's blocked off.
  • You should have a short path that leads back to the Closed Exhibit from that room.

When you go to that adjacent room, you'll notice that there's a control panel. This is the Closed Exhibit's security system. Here's what you need to do next:

  • Click the first option to reveal the tripwires.
  • Click the second option to lower the barrier.
  • Then, when you click the third option--reset the alarm system--quickly run to the Closed Exhibit and grab the Red Paper Crown from the pedestal. You have 10 seconds to do this before the item is enclosed within a barrier.
  • If you fail, don't worry. Just go back to the control panel and reset the alarm system once more.
If you circle around to the back of the Closed Exhibit, you'll be able to interact with the control panel.

What does the Red Paper Crown do?

If you did it right, you should acquire the Closed Exhibit Red Crown in Blue Prince. It has a rather nifty effect: If there's no red room among the first three floor plans that you draw, then you'll be able to redraw the options. It's a neat way to have extra rerolls when you're in a bind.
