How To Unlock Pauline And Ninji In Super Mario Party Jamboree

Part of the fun of any Mario Party game is finding someone you love to play from Mario's long history of lovable characters. Super Mario Party Jamboree has 20 characters unlocked from the get-go, giving you plenty of choices for who you want to dominate the board with. However, there are two characters you have to unlock separately: Pauline and Ninji. If you want to play as either of them, you're in luck, as we'll tell you how to unlock them below.

How to unlock Pauline and Ninji in Super Mario Party Jamboree

You don't need to make any major progress in Super Mario Party Jamboree to unlock Pauline and Ninji. Instead, you simply need to enter the giant hot air balloon in the Party Plaza--the same one you use to access game modes.

Normally, you'd use L and R to cycle through game modes while you're in the hot air balloon, but you can actually gain full control over the camera. Once you're up in the air and scouting out locations, just use the left stick to move around freely.

Now, all you have to do is look for Pauline and Ninji, zoom in on them, then press A to interact.

Where to find Pauline

Pauline
Pauline is located on a small island to the left of Minigame Bay. Zoom in on her and press A. She'll look a bit startled at first, but she'll promptly join your roster!

Where to find Ninji

Ninji
Ninji is located on a tall island near the Rhythm Kitchen building. Just as you did with Pauline, simply zoom in and press A to startle Ninji a bit, at which point the little fella will happily join your roster.

With both of these additional pals found in Super Mario Party Jamboree, your total playable characters are up to 22, giving you no shortage of options for who to use. And since every character has identical stats, there's no meaningful advantage for picking one over another, so play whoever you like the best!

Super Mario Party Jamboree is available now on Nintendo Switch. Additionally, you can upgrade to the Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV edition for Nintendo Switch 2, which contains tons of exclusive features, including all-new modes, mouse controls, CameraPlay, and improved visuals.
