The word phasmophobia describes a fear of ghosts, but perhaps it's the spirits who should be afraid after Phasmophobia's next update. Kinetic Games has announced that the new Phasmophobia update, Chronicle, will arrive next month, and it will give players some upgraded tools for their ghosthunting endeavors.
Chronicle is adding the ability to record and collect sound evidence of ghosts with an upgradable sound recorder that can detect hidden layers of audio from ghostly events that might otherwise go unnoticed. The update is also overhauling the game's evidence presentation, which will be reorganized into a media tab with three subsections--photos, videos, and sound recordings. Players will be able to log in the different pieces of evidence they collect to complete their investigations.

In addition to the revamped evidence collection, Chronicle will add a new reward system. The first time players collect evidence of any kind will be given extra cash and XP rewards following the conclusion of each contact. Any duplicate evidence collected by players will get smaller rewards, while bonuses will be tied to the equipment used to capture them.
Phasmophobia's latest update is also introducing a more refined leveling and progression system, a new main menu, and eliminating some bugs from the game. Kinetic Games notes that an overhaul of Phasmophobia's Grafton Farmhouse will be added later this year. The new Grafton Farmhouse will feature redesigned layouts, enhanced visuals, re-themed rooms, and a "haunting new attic."
Kinetic Games will release Phasmophobia's Chronicle update on June 24.
