Launching today, Pokemon Pokopia is already looking to the near future. That's because the Switch 2 exclusive's first limited-time event starts in mere days, on March 9, and it'll be the only way to come across three Pokemon in the game: Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff.
The official Pokemon website has announced that More Spores for Hoppip will be the first limited-time in-game event for Pokopia, with more arriving in the future. But first, beginning March 9, More Spores for Hoppip will run through March 24 and see players coming across Hoppip. Additionally, "special cotton spores" can be obtained and utilized for picnic-themed items as well as encountering Skiploom and Jumpluff.
It's noted that rebuilding the Pokemon Center within Pokopia is a requirement for More Spores for Hoppip, and the limited-time event won't be accessible on Cloud Islands. You'll end up restoring your first Pokemon Center within hours of starting, although there is a real-time-clock aspect to doing so. You can check out our Pokopia time-travel guide for more details. Pokopia also will offer a Ditto rug for all players through the Mystery Gifts menu from now through January 31, 2027.
Pokopia is one of the most critically acclaimed Pokemon games ever, with a metascore of 88 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. The cozy simulation game is part of the push to expand Pokemon beyond just battling. But that doesn't mean the mainline series is going anywhere. In fact, Pokemon Winds and Waves--the 10th generation of Pokemon--was just revealed last week.
