Preorders For Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club Are Now Live

After a three-decade hiatus, Famicom Detective Club is finally making a return. Emio - The Smiling Man is the first game in the series since The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind launched for the Famicom Disk System, and it's shaping up to be another terrifying entry in the long-dormant franchise. Preorders are now open ahead of its August 29 release date, so consider giving it a look if you want to dive into the chilling adventure game later this summer.

Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club Preorder Bonuses

There are currently no preorder bonuses for Emio - The Smiling Man, and because it's release date is just around the corner, we don’t expect to see anything announced in the coming weeks. That means you're free to shop at any retailer without the risk of missing out on cool exclusive collectibles.

There's a lot we still don't know about Emio - The Smiling Man, as Nintendo has only detailed a few minutes of content via the latest trailers. The visual novel will follow a private investigator as they unravel the murder of a student who is said to have been slain by Emio. The original protagonist from The Missing Heir, Ayumi Tachibana, also appears to be a playable character for part of the game.

If you want to check out the previous games in the series, The Girl Who Stands Behind and The Missing Heir, consider picking up The Two-Case Collection at Best Buy for $60. This digital collection includes the remastered versions of both games, which received a big overhaul for Switch in 2021.
