Reanimal Secret Ending Guide - All Coffin Locations

Reanimal may be a relatively brief game, but it houses a lot of secrets within its eerie world, ranging from bizarre masks to posters you can rip down to earn gallery art. However, perhaps its most compelling collectible of all is its five coffins that are expertly hidden throughout the game. Finding and interacting with them all will trigger everything you need to see Reanimal's secret ending, providing a little more insight into the game's creepy lore. In this guide, we'll tell you where to find each coffin so that you, too, can reach the secret ending in Reanimal.

All coffin locations in Reanimal

There are five coffins across multiple chapters required to get Reanimal's secret ending. Each coffin location is listed below with details of how to reach it.

Coffin 1 - Chapter 1: Dead in the Water

The first coffin can be found soon after using the handcar to cross the bridge.

Instead of heading into the cave, stop the handcar in the open area right beforehand, then hop off.

Head to the right of this area to find a traincar with an open door. Enter the door.

In the area on the other side of the traincar is the first coffin. Be sure to interact with it, then be on your way.

Coffin 2 - Chapter 3: After the Flood

The second coffin is found during the flooded streets segment, where you spend your time navigating between buildings in a boat. Immediately after receiving the harpoons and getting back in the boat, make your way back toward the large hotel.

Instead of blowing up the mine in front of the hotel to progress the campaign, though, take the alley located to the right.

Here, you'll find two mines blocking a secret passage on the left. Blow them up with the harpoons, then head inside.

Dock the boat on the shore here, then enter the glowing yellow door ahead.

At the bottom of the stairs is the second coffin, so interact with it, then return to the main story path.

Coffin 3 - Chapter 3: After the Flood

The third coffin is found shortly after the second one. When you exit the flooded streets and enter an open area with a cannon in the center, wrap all the way right around the cannon, then all the way left until you reach a dead end on the other side.

Here, you'll find a well-hidden cave entrance. Head inside.

Halfway through, you'll need to kill an enemy in the water with a harpoon. Do so, then continue.

Dock at the beach at the end of the path, interact with the coffin, then continue on your journey.

Coffin 4 - Chapter 4: No Shelter

The fourth coffin is located inside the Orphanage at the very end of Chapter 4. You'll enter the bottom floor of a room where your friend has been lowered into a hole on a rope.

Before you interact with the wheel in the right corner to raise him back up, walk toward the camera and to the left to reveal a door.

Go through this door.

In the room on the other side of the door is the fourth coffin. Interact with it, then head back through the door and finish up the chapter.

Coffin 5 - Chapter 7: The Spoils

The fifth coffin is located in the hospital. You'll enter a room filled with soldiers on hospital beds who used grenades to blow themselves up. Immediately after, you'll need to run through a hallway with a few more hospital beds and explosions. When you turn a corner and notice a wheelchair rolling beside you, stop. Turn around and backtrack a few steps to note that a hole has been blown in the wall nearby.

Enter the hole to find a large bunker door.

Interact with the outer handle, then turn it all the way to unlock the bunker.

Use the ladder here to climb down into the bunker.

After you reach the bottom, you'll find the final coffin. Interact with it to unlock the secret ending, which you'll see upon beating the game.

Reanimal is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
