The saga of the long-rumored Persona 4 remake continues: According to new reports, the remake will be officially unveiled at the Xbox Showcase this weekend.
First reported by MP1st and then corroborated by Windows Central, developer Atlus will finally announce a remake of Persona 4 during Microsoft's big Summer Game Fest event, the Xbox Games Showcase. The remake will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, according to these reports, but there is no clear word yet on if it'll come to Switch 2.
While we will likely need to wait for the showcase to get more details on the extent of this remake, it's probably a good bet that it'll be similar to last year's Persona 3 Reload. Overhauling the visuals and refining the gameplay systems, Persona 3 Reload revitalized the beloved game and was a commercial hit. Chances are strong that Atlus will be looking to replicate Persona 3 Reload's successes with this Persona 4 remake.
This project has been rumored for months, and it has been in the news recently for somewhat strange reasons: Despite its lack of official announcement, a series of voice actors from Persona 4 have stated on social media that they have not been contacted by Atlus. While disappointing to longtime fans of the franchise, Atlus has replaced voice actors in the past when remaking its games.
The Xbox Showcase will take on Sunday, June 8, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM UK, part of the bigger Summer Game Fest that is happening right now. Be sure to keep an eye on GameSpot for all news coming out of the events that are slated to take place this weekend.
