See More Of The FPS-Style World Of Tanks: Heat In New Gameplay Video

World of Tanks: Heat continues to come into focus, with Wargaming releasing the newest installment in the Foundations series that dives into what to expect from the upcoming free-to-play tank game.

The new video explores how players will interact with their tanks in the form of "Agents."

"They don't just operate the tanks, they possess them," says a narrator in the video. There are different roles that players can take on, including Defenders, Assault, and Marksman. Each agent can own two tanks for a given match, allowing them to switch between them as they see fit. As an example of how this works, the agent Hound's AMX Tank can shoot drones to mark targets, and his alternate tank, the Leo, can display a decoy to fool enemies. Check out the video to see how this works in action.

Here are the official descriptions for each role:

  • Defender – anchors the frontline, absorbing damage and advancing with heavy firepower.
  • Assault – embodies speed and aggression, striking fast and repositioning before enemies can react.
  • Marksman – controls the battlefield from a distance, eliminating targets with calculated precision.

Each agent has an Ultimate ability that can help sway how battles play out if utilized effectively. Some of the Ultimate abilities include Contracted Strikes, which oblierate the battlefield with a "Hydra" rocket that hits multiple enemies at once.

Another is called Hunting Time, and this includes multiple guided missiles with an instant cooldown to keep the firepower going. Finally, Creeping Barrage is an Ultimate ability that allows the player to launch massive artillery blasts over large swaths of ground.

World of Tanks: Heat aims to add "FPS-style intensity" to the series, and takes place in an alternate post-World War II timeline. The free-to-play shooter is in development now but doesn't have a release date.
