Splitgate 2 is leaving beta this week, developer 1047 Games has announced. The game will have its 1.0 launch on June 6 on PC via Steam, the Windows Store, and Epic Games Store, while it'll also be playable that day on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
There are still some secrets in store, though, as 1047 Games said the "biggest part" of the game will be revealed on June 6 as the game goes live. Beyond that, 1047 Games is teasing a "massive surprise" for the Summer Game Fest live broadcast, which also takes place on June 6.
While the 1.0 launch is still a few days away, Splitgate 2's current open beta is going on now, and players who buy the Beta Battlepass can start unlocking items now; progression does not reset for the 1.0 launch.
Splitgate 2 is a sequel to 2021's Splitgate, and is described as the "ultimate realization" of the developer's vision for what the franchise can be.
As for Summer Game Fest, the event promises major news and reveals beyond whatever is on tap for Splitgate 2. It's one of many summertime gaming shows coming up soon, and for more, be sure to consult GameSpot's rundown of all the summer gaming shows and how to watch them.
