Starfield is rumored to be in the works for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2, but the reported Switch 2 version has been delayed or may never be released at all, according to a report.
Posting on Resetera, known insider Shinobi said the rumored Switch 2 version of Starfield has been "pushed out." He added that the game "might not even come out at all."
Shinobi said this in response to the recent rumor that Starfield is coming to PS5 in April.
Starfield originally released in September 2023 for PC and Xbox. Bethesda's first new IP in a quarter century scored middling reviews and reached 15 million players--thanks in part to Game Pass--as of November 2024. The game's Shattered Space expansion released in September 2024.
While it remains to be seen if Starfield is coming to PS5 or Switch 2, Bethesda just recently announced that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 on February 24, followed by Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on May 12. Oblivion Remastered is coming to Switch 2 at some point in 2026.
