Super Mario Party Jamboree released for Nintendo Switch last October, and it’s making the jump to Nintendo Switch 2 on July 24. Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV - Switch 2 Edition is a mouthful of a title, but it's simple port. The game will feature improved graphics and frame rates along with heaps of new content thanks to the includied Jamboree TV expansion that adds host of new modes and mini games. Preorders for Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV - Switch 2 Edition are now open at select retailers, while folks with a Switch copy can upgrade the original Switch version of the game for just $20 once it launches. Here’s a look at how you can get your hands on the upcoming game and all its new features.
There are currently no preorder bonuses for Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition. If anything is announced between now and July 24, we’ll update this section with details.
If you already own Super Mario Party Jamboree on Nintendo Switch, you can pick up all the new content by purchasing the $20 upgrade. This will be available on the Switch 2 eShop. Doing this will upgrade your Switch version of Super Mario Party Jamboree to the Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition, unlocking everything found in the $80 release. In other words, current owners will only need to spend $20 to explore all the new content. This upgrade process works for both physical and digital copies of the Switch game. A physical version of the original Switch game can be found for $52.50 (was $60) at Amazon.
Our Super Mario Party Jamboree review gave it a 6/10 on Switch, noting its original maps were among the best we’ve seen in years, and it’s still a fun party game loaded with chaotic mini games. It was, however, a bit bloated with game modes, and a handful of the games are so slow that they mess with the overall flow of your matches. But if you’re a fan of Mario Party games, there’s still much to love about the latest entry.
Looking to play games beyond Super Mario Party Jamboree on your new Switch 2? Plenty of other titles are now available to preorder. This includes the relaxing farm simulator Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar and the chaotic Donkey Kong Bananza. Older Switch games are also getting upgrades for Switch 2--and preorders are now open for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom or Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
The Switch 2 Camera is almost a necessity for Super Mario Party Jamboree, as plenty of new features make use of the device. You might also consider picking up another set of Joy-Con 2 Controllers (2-Pack), allowing more people to dive into the fun.
