That Wasn't A Cyberpunk 2077 Teaser After All

Recently, CD Projekt published a social media post about Cyberpunk 2077 that some took to be a teaser for some kind of announcement on December 10, the game's fifth anniversary.

This was not a teaser for anything, CD Projekt's Marcin Momot has now clarified. The developer publishes these kinds of posts every 30 days to celebrate birthdays for Cyberpunk characters, and for December, the 10th was mentioned as well to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary.

"It's not a teaser. Hope this clears things up!" he wrote.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2020, so its fifth anniversary is right around the corner. The game launched in a rough state in terms of quality, but CD Projekt steadily supported the game with updates and improvements over the years. Now, it's sold more than 35 million copies.

The game expanded to a new place, the Switch 2, when it launched on Nintendo's console back in June. Following the huge success of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt announced a sequel, Cyberpunk 2, which is now in the works at the company's new office in Boston alongside teams in Warsaw and Vancouver.

Beyond Cyberpunk 2 and The Witcher 4, CD Projekt is working on a multiplayer Witcher game, a new IP in the works under the codename Hadar, and a remake of the original Witcher. The studio is also making a new game based on one of CD Projekt's IPs with Saudi Arabia's Scopely.
