Actor Jessie Buckley took home the Academy Award for Best Actress at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, and now the developer behind a game she starred in is celebrating her achievement for the movie Hamnet.
Buckley played the starring role of Kate Wilder, an investigative journalist, in The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me.
"An amazing award season for Jessie," going on to mention how she also won the top acting awards for actresses at the BAFTAs, Critics' Choice, Golden Globes, and Actor Awards. "Congrats!" developer Supermassive said. "She'll likely need a new trophy cabinet."
The Devil in Me is the one and only video game that Buckley, 36, has appeared in. She earned critical acclaim for Hamnet, in which she plays Agnes Shakespeare opposite Paul Mescal as William Shakespeare. It was directed by Chloe Zhao from a script she co-wrote with Maggie O'Farrell.
Buckley is just the latest actor from a Supermassive title to go on to win an Oscar. Rami Malek played a leading role in the horror game Until Dawn before going on to win Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody.
Supermassive's next game is Directive 8020, which stars Lashana Lynch. She's known for her roles in Captain Marvel and No Time To Die, among numerous other projects.
