Deltarune Chapter 5 is set to be released sometime in 2026, according to a message at the end of Chapter 4.
As spotted by IGN, beating Deltarune Chapter 4 grants players with a message that reads, "To be continued in Chapter 5. 2026." Considering developer Toby Fox went as far as to put this message in the game itself, that's a pretty firm release window for the next chapter in a saga that has been ongoing for quite a while.
Deltarune is Toby Fox's spiritual successor to Undertale, a massive indie hit that released in 2015. While Undertale was released all at once, Deltarune has been slowly been released through individual chapters, with in-game menus suggesting there will be seven chapters overall. These chapters have released at an inconsistent pace, however.
Chapter 1 of Deltarune was released on PC in 2018. Chapter 2 arrived three years later in 2021. Then, players had to wait nearly four more years for Chapters 3 and 4, which launched simultaneously and alongside Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. If Chapter 5 is truly only a year or so out from launch, its release will mark the shortest gap between Deltarune chapters since this all began.
The first four chapters of Deltarune are available now for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, and PS5.
