Indie studio Rusty Lake is celebrating 10 years of Lynchian point-and-click mysteries by releasing a new game, The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show, completely free of charge.
The title is the latest in the studio's Rusty Lake Universe, a series of 18 surrealist adventure games inspired by David Lynch's iconic TV series Twin Peaks. Each game is connected and reveals more about the strange universe of the series, and The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show is no exception. Rusty Lake teases that a secret achievement inside The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show will offer players a "first glance" at the next installment in the series, Servant of the Lake, which explores the early history of the series' Vanderboom Brothers.
Described as a "short but magical game consisting of 20 acts filled with secrets and unexpected twists," The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show is available now for free on Steam, Itch.io, iOS, and Android.
The game's release also coincides with a platform-wide sale (including on Nintendo Switch) for all previous Rusty Lake titles up to 66% off, alongside a limited-edition merchandise drop through Lost In Cult. Items for sale include a Rusty Lake deck of playing cards inspired by the surreal symbols and characters of the series, as well as a special anniversary vinyl featuring "the greatest hits" from the series performed by Victor Butzelaar.
Rusty Lake's previous game, Underground Blossom, released in 2023 and saw players inhabit Laura Vanderboom as she traveled from train station to train station, uncovering both her past and future. The Past Within, released in 2022, was the studio's first co-op title and its first to release on Nintendo Switch. It sees players cooperating and communicating to explore environments in two different timelines, past and future, and supports cross-platform play.
