Xur has once again arrived in Destiny 2, bringing with him a fresh selection Exotic armor and weapons, as well as a few other items to add to your arsenal. With the Solstice event still ongoing, now is a great time to grab some gear to take with you into the EAZ and into other activities. Here's where Xur is this weekend and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in the EDZ, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Wardcliff Coil. Hunters can pick up the Gwisin Vest armor; Titans can grab the Khepri's Horn helmet; and Warlocks can buy the Winter's Guile gauntlets.
Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone, then hop on your sparrow and go north. Take the collapsed overpass on the left and look for a cave near the bend in the road. Follow the tunnel through the cliff face to reach a higher ridge where a Fallen dropship has crashed; you'll find Xur waiting there.
Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard Ops or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but from this season, you'll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers has also increased, as you'll now be able to hold up to five of them at a time.
While Loreley Splendor is still the go-to Exotic helmet for Titans who specialize in solar warfare, Khepri's Horn is a great alternative if you don't have that Exotic. Solar Rampart allows for solar final blows to recharge your barricade, and when you activate that subclass ability, the energy wall unleashes a blast of power that scorches targets. For the stats, this helmet has great resilience, discipline, and strength, but the high mobility stat isn't desirable. Intellect and recovery also extremely low on this Exotic.
With the Roving Assassin perk, each Spectral Blades kill you make before going into stealth will restore more of your Super energy. This fancy vest has a high mobility stat that works well with this Exotic, good discipline and intellect stats, and very low recovery and strength stats that'll need to be increased with armor mods.
Winter's Guile is a bit of an odd Exotic for Warlocks, but with the right subclass, it can shine. In--or on--the hands of an Arc Warlock who has a charged melee, you can easily use that ability to chain lightning through cannon fodder enemies and then use the increased attack strength to deliver a killer blow. When it comes to stats, this Exotic has a fairly even spread across the board--except for intellect--with strength being the highest here, tying nicely into the identity of these gauntlets.
What happens when you create a rocket launcher that behaves like a shotgun? You get this pray-and-spray behemoth, which unleashes enough destructive force to vaporize almost anything that gets in your way. It might not be elegant, but The Wardcliff Coil is great for clearing the field of weaker enemies. Plus, its secondary perk Mechanized Autoloader instantly reloads the weapon when you pick up ammo.
This week's roll of Hawkmoon might not be the best, but it's certainly better than what we've seen over the last month. Opening Shot (improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack) is on this particular build, which pairs nicely with the Textured Grip perk to make this a decent hand cannon for PvP.
Dead Man's Tale is also an above-average roll this week thanks to the selection of perks on this version of the scout rifle. Outlaw gives you a quicker reload speed if you manage to get precision kills with this weapon, making this a valuable trait for both PvP and PvE. With High-Caliber Rounds and Corkscrew Rifling also featuring in this roll, DMT has some great flexibility in a range of activities this week.
