It's not only the start of a new month in Destiny 2, but also the beginning of one of its big four events, the Guardian Games. Who will come out on top in this clash between Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters? That remains to be seen, but it can't hurt to have some powerful hardware on your side for this competition. Here's where you can find Xur this week, and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in The Tower, inside the Hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering DARCI. Hunters can pick up Fr0st-EE5; Titans can grab Peregrine Greaves; and Warlocks can buy the Lunafaction Boots leg armor.
Spawn in using the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. Head left and down the stairs to enter the Hangar section, then hang another left. Make your way to the north end of the area and look for a staircase that will take you onto a catwalk, where Xur is waiting.
For the Titan who likes to deliver a powerful blow while airborne, Peregrine Greaves will put some pep in your step. All shoulder charge abilities deal bonus damage when activated in the air, and landing a blow on powerful enemies will refund a portion of melee energy back to you. This roll of Peregrine Geaves focuses on two crucial areas for the strategy you'll employ while using it: mobility and strength. These are high, but resilience, discipline, recovery, and intellect are very low so you'll need to apply some armor mods to address these shortcomings.
A favorite with Hunters in PvP, Fr0st-EE5 gives you increased grenade, melee, and dodge-energy regeneration while sprinting. Dodging will also briefly increase your sprint speed when you need to make a quick getaway. The stats on this roll are nicely balanced, with mobility being the highlight here. Resilience, strength, and discipline won't need too much strengthening from armor mods, but recovery is very low.
A Warlock classic, Lunafaction Boots will add increased weapon-reload speeds to Rifts. Empowering Rifts also make weapons more effective at longer range, adding some extra PvE utility to these fancy boots. Fittingly, intellect is quite high with this Exotic--pop a Well of Radiance Super to really take advantage of this gear, and recovery also gets a nice boost. Everything else is on the low side, so you'll need to plan accordingly around these gaps in your armor.
A fun Arc-energy sniper rifle for eagle-eyed players, DARCI's Target Acquired perk offers better target acquisition, deals boosted precision damage, and applies a Jolt debuff to your mark. The second trait, Personal Assistant, gives you critical information on your target. This makes it a nice weapon for when you need to take on a boss, so long as you're quick on the trigger or you have some Guardians to draw attention away from you.
Feel free to give Hawkmoon a skip this week unless you really need it, as this roll doesn't have much to offer. The Surplus weapon trait gives you increased handling, reload speed, and stability for each charged ability, but it's not worth keeping those powers in reserve for a slight boost in weapon power.
