Why GTA 6 Parent Company Is Talking About Eating Red Meat For Breakfast

Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release this November, a date that Rockstar parent company Take-Two re-committed to during its latest earnings briefing. Take-Two also teased that Rockstar's marketing campaign will begin in earnest this summer. The game is coming to market with a huge amount of hype behind it, so how much marketing does Rockstar really even need to do?

That's the question that Mike Hickey of Benchmark put to Strauss Zelnick during a recent earnings call. He said Rockstar will not "sit back and relax" ahead of GTA 6's release. "I think the opposite is true," he said, going on to tease that Rockstar has some major plans in store to hype the game up.

"You're talking to a team that you've known for 17 years, and we're in the business of eating red meat for breakfast. I think we'll be having a lot more red meat in the coming months," he said.

Zelnick went on to say that Take-Two feels "very fortunate" that there is a fever pitch of excitement for GTA 6, going on to acknowledge that, "One does have to be judicious in the way one markets such an extraordinary property."

"But rest assured that I think you'll be pretty astonished by the creativity that Rockstar's marketing team brings to consumers in the coming months," he said.

In other GTA 6 news, Take-Two denied the rumor that the game will launch as a digital-exclusive game, confirmed there is no generative AI content in the game, and said GTA Online will live on after GTA 6 comes out.
