World Of Tanks Is Crossing Over With Mafia For Some Reason

2K Games and Wargaming are teaming up for an unexpected crossover event.

From March 19-29, World of Tanks is adding Mafia-themed content with the Battle Pass Special: Mafia. "A renowned family of decent people has arrived in World of Tanks. These respectable gentlemen from the fine city of Lost Heaven provide valuable services," reads a line from the description.

The centerpiece of the crossover is the "Predatore" tank from Italy. The specs for the Predatore include a view range of 390 meters, a top speed of 62 km/h, with up to 22 km/h in reverse. You can see the tank in action in the video above.

In addition to the tank, the Mafia characters Tommy Angelo, Paulie Lombardo, Sam Trapani, Frank Colletti, and Don Ennio Salieri are coming to World of Tanks. Players can earn special customization items and perks for their tanks; you can see the full rundown of unlockables on the World of Tanks website.

The newest Mafia game is 2025's Mafia: The Old Country, which took a gamble with a $50 price point, and the experiment seemingly paid off for parent company Take-Two. There is no word yet on any future expansions for the Mafia series, making the timing of this crossover rather unusual.

As for World of Tanks, the game launched in 2010 and continues to get new updates, expansions, and events like this newly announced Mafia one. Beyond the main game, Wargaming is making an FPS-style game called World of Tanks: Heat.
