PlayStation Plus subscribers will be swimming in free games next month. To celebrate the PSVR's fifth birthday, PlayStation has announced that it will give away a trio of PlayStation VR games to PS Plus members in November. These freebies will be in addition to the regular monthly lineup--which typically includes a PS5 game and two PS4 games--so subscribers will get six free games total. PlayStation hasn't revealed which PSVR games will be free, but we imagine they will be notable titles...
Ahead of the release for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, developer ILCA and publisher Nintendo have marketed the two remakes as faithful adaptations of the original Generation IV games. I recently attended a preview event for the duo where I got to see B. Diamond in action, and although these remakes look faithful to the original games, I'm not so sure that they'll feel as faithful. If anything, the changes made in these remakes seem to make for a far more approachable experience--I...

What makes the new release novel is the explicit encouragement from developers MercurySteam and Nintendo EPD by rewarding classic speedrunning techniques with hidden content. A clever sequence break makes fighting Kraid, an early boss...
It's an unpopular opinion, but I liked the small internal monologues that Samus had in Metroid Fusion. Her text-based thoughts were sprinkled throughout the game, providing insight into her mental and emotional state. Given that Metroid Dread follows in Fusion's footsteps, concluding Samus' story with a cinematic, narrative-driven game, I had hoped that we'd see her share her thoughts with us again. But that's not the case. Despite Dread being about Samus, she doesn't have a voice in the...
