All Armor Sets In Windrose And How To Get Them

Despite being a pirate game focused on navigating the open seas with your ship and crew, Windrose features some surprisingly difficult combat. In the opening hours of your playthrough, you'll likely die to more than a few boars or dodo birds. Luckily, you can eventually stop dying to meager enemies once you equip some more advanced armor in Windrose.

Armor goes well beyond the basic rags you start out with, but it's not easily obtainable in the lands around Tortuga. To see all of the available armor sets you can acquire and equip in Windrose, keep reading the guide below.

All armor sets in Windrose

In total, there are seven armor sets available to acquire in Windrose. Here's what those armor sets are:

  • Survivor Set
  • Tracket Set
  • Filbustier Set
  • Privateer Set
  • Conquistador Set
  • Pikeman Set
  • Marksman Set

While you'll spend most of the early and mid-game equipping different pieces of armor sets, you'll eventually want to try to equip multiple pieces of the same set. When you equip two pieces of the same armor set, you'll earn a small buff, and then equipping four pieces of the same set earns you a larger buff. Some of the buffs you can earn are incredibly valuable, so it's important to fill out different armor sets as quickly as possible in Windrose.

Of course, you can't do that efficiently until you learn how each armor set is acquired.

How to get all armor sets in Windrose

The way armor sets are acquired in Windrose is a little different from how other survival games work. Every piece of armor in the game can be crafted at an Armor & Clothing Workbench, which you can build in your base after completing a few story missions.

Over time, you can upgrade your Windrose Workbench level so that more and more armor recipes become available. However, you won't be able to craft any armor piece until you loot it in Windrose. So, for example, you'll be able to craft the Conquistador's Boots at your Armor & Clothing Workbench only after you find them in a chest or loot them from an enemy. Before you loot them, the boots won't be available to craft, regardless of how upgraded your Workbench is.

This means you'll have to rely on some RNG to fill out different armor sets in Windrose. In our experience, though, as long as you're completing story missions and exploring pirate camps frequently, you'll be able to find plenty of armor pieces. You can also purchase certain armor pieces from various NPCs in major hub towns or complete faction quests to earn pieces as a reward.

Below, you can see the unlock method, Workbench resource requirement, and set bonus for every piece of armor in Windrose:

And those are all of the current armor sets we have access to in the current version of Windrose. As early access goes on for the game, more pieces of armor might be added, so we'll update this guide if any additional sets are introduced. We expect the same to be true when it comes to all ships in Windrose.
