Arc Raiders Dev Says It's Being Hit By Coordinated DDoS Attacks

Earlier this week, Arc Raiders players encountered an enemy that they couldn't shoot or destroy. Embark Studios has confirmed that its wildly popular Arc Raiders and The Finals were targeted by "extensive, coordinated" distributed denial-of-service attacks that left the games' servers in an unstable state with some players unable to reconnect.

Per Eurogamer, community manager Ossen informed players that Arc Raiders and The Finals had been the target of DDoS attacks in a message on the former's Discord server. "The strike team has been working hard on mitigations and solutions to fix the problem, and we are making good progress," wrote Ossen. "But at this point in time, the attacks are still ongoing."

In a follow-up statement on Discord, Ossen noted that the team has noticed that the "servers are recovering." But it's unknown if the DDoS attacks have stopped or if Embark has been able to find a way to counter them.

The timing of the attack comes on the heels of Arc Raiders' latest update, which debuted a new solo vs. squad mode, in addition to a Bird City map condition, and more changes.

Arc Raiders has emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2025, with 12 million copies sold across all platforms since the game's debut at the end of October 2025. Embark recently set up a three-strike system to deal with Arc Raiders cheaters. The studio has also updated its roadmap for new Arc Raiders content through the end of April.
