Ashly Burch Says She Wasn't Asked To Reprise Her Role As Chloe Price In Life Is Strange: Reunion

Ashly Burch, the actor who voiced Chloe Price in the original Life Is Strange, has confirmed that she wasn't approached to reprise her role for Life Is Strange: Reunion.

Last week, developer Deck Nine and Square Enix announced the next game in its long-running Life Is Strange series: Life Is Strange: Reunion. Like with the most recent title, Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, Reunion will once again star Max Caulfield, and this time, she'll be joined by Chloe Price.

Reunion is expected to be the finale in the pair's decade-plus story, and Chloe, who hasn't been featured in the series since Life is Strange's 2017 prequel, Before the Storm, will be a playable character alongside Max.

However, this time around, Chloe will be voiced by Rhianna DeVries, instead of her original actor, Ashly Burch, who says she didn't find out about the game until it was revealed.

Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer following the game's announcement, Burch--who is also known for her role as Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn--said she doesn't "know a lot about this project," but expressed her continued love for Chloe and Max.

"I wasn't asked to reprise my role as Chloe, so I'm learning about Reunion at the same time as the fans," Burch said, adding that she is "grateful people still care so much about these characters."

"Max and Chloe will always have a special place in my heart," she said.

The ending of Life Is Strange presents players with two possible outcomes that decide the fate of Chloe Price: save her and doom Arcadia Bay, or let her die and save the town.

It seems, thanks to Max merging two timelines in Double Exposure, Chloe is now alive regardless of the decision the player made in the 2015 game, leading to another whirlwind chapter in the pair's story that will be played out in Reunion.

"This game builds on all the character-led, grounded storytelling for which the Life is Strange series is known, with meaningful choices that affect the outcome of a dramatic and surprising narrative – all culminating in an epic climax that serves as a finale to the Max and Chloe saga," Square Enix said in a press release.

Life Is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
