Battlefield 6 Season 2 Brings New Maps, More Guns, And LTMs

Following a brief delay, the much-anticipated Season 2 update will finally arrive to Battlefield 6 and Redsec on February 17. Battlefield Studios has now revealed the full roadmap of content players can expect for Season 2, including new maps, more guns to unlock, and additional vehicles. There will also be limited-time modes and a new battle pass to level up.

Just like Season 1, Battlefield 6's Season 2 content will be released in three phases: Extreme Measures, Nightfall, and Hunter/Prey.

Extreme Measure launches on February 17, and this first phase of content includes the new Contaminated multiplayer map, three new guns, two new gadgets, and the return of Battlefield's AH-6 Little Bird as an additional vehicle. The update also includes the new VL-7 psychoactive smoke, which is described as "distorting the battlefield" with non-lethal hallucinogenic effects.

This new VL-7 psychoactive smoke seems to be incorporated into a limited-time mode called VL-7 Strike. Redsec is getting a new Gauntlet Altered State limited-time mode, which looks to also feature the new smoke, as the mode is described as having "mind-bending combat."

Season 2's Nightfall update is scheduled for release on March 17. This second phase of content introduces a nighttime theme across Battlefield 6 and Redsec. Nightfall includes the new Hagental Base multiplayer map and a new POI for Redsec's Fort Lyndon battle royale map.

Nightfall also adds a seasonal event, new limited-time modes, two new guns, and the M1030-1 dirt bike.

On April 14, the final phase of content rolls out for Season 2. The Hunter/Prey update doesn't include a new map, but it adds a limited-time mode called Operation Augur, a new melee weapon, the LTV vehicle, updates to Portal, and a new bonus path for the Season 2 battle pass.

Battlefield Studios recently confirmed positive changes for the Season 2 battle pass, including adjustments to progression and re-balanced XP boosters. Redsec's Career XP and Weapon XP earn rates are going up in Battle Royale and Gauntlet as well.
