Korean developer Pearl Abyss has announced that its RPG Crimson Desert has now reached another sales milestone. The game has surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide, up from 2 million units sold over the game's first 24 hours after releasing on March 19.
In a statement, Pearl Abyss said, "To everyone who has stepped into Pywel and shared the journey with us, thank you."
The developer went on to say it continues to listen to fan feedback to help "shape the experience," and that effort will continue as the team aims to make Crimson Desert "even more enjoyable for our players."
On the subject of updating the game to respond to fan feedback, Pearl Abyss just recently launched a major update that made a number of key changes fans had asked for. Additionally, the developer apologized for the game's use of generative AI, explaining why it happened, and announcing it would conduct an audit of the entire game to ensure no other AI art is there.
If you're just getting started with Crimson Desert, you can check out GameSpot's Crimson Desert tips and beginner's guide to help you hit the ground running. One thing to know right away is that if you go out of bounds, a whale will end you.
GameSpot's Crimson Desert review scored the game a 7/10. Reviewer Richard Wakeling said, in a review published before notable updates were released, "Crimson Desert's spectacular open world and thrilling combat are only let down by a few narrative and quality-of-life issues."
