Hideo Kojima’s Timing Is Interesting As He Posts A Trailer Update Before State Of Play Day

A new State of Play livestream has been confirmed for February 12, but just minutes before Sony made the announcement, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach game director Hideo Kojima also teased… something. The veteran game developer has been busy in his editing studio lately, putting together a trailer for the first time in eight months.

While he didn't have time to finish his work, he did post a photo of his desktop setup, including a close-up of his display.

Granted, "a Hideo Kojima" screen doesn't say much, but people are already speculating that a PC port of Death Stranding 2 is being prepped for a reveal this month. The game has been a PS5 exclusive since June 26, 2025, and in the wake of an ESRB rating for a PC version that was later deleted, it looks likely that an announcement is on the way, given Kojima's close relationship with PlayStation.

The other side of the coin could be that Kojima is gearing up to release the first teaser for Physint, a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid. Kojima Productions unveiled the official poster for the stealth-action game, which only hinted at the game's protagonist. Kojima has teased that Physint will is the "next stage of tactical espionage action," and its graphics will "break the barrier" between movies and games.

Between those two games, Kojima is also busy on several other projects. A fresh look at OD was revealed during the Beyond the Strand event back in September, while the world of Death Stranding is expanding with multiple projects like an anime spin-off and a live-action movie.

On top of that, Kojima has partnered with the original creator of Pokemon Go to "redefine immersive entertainment," and he recently launched his own credit card.
