There aren't too many complicated parts of No Rest for the Wicked, as it's an ARPG where you explore a mostly linear map and fight enemies along the way. You'll encounter NPCs with quests to give, bosses that can stop you in your tracks, and towns that provide you with a break in the action and a place to buy and sell gear and items.
However, in the first few hours of No Rest for the Wicked, you might encounter the Western Bridge Door, which requires the Western Bridge Key to open. In all likelihood, you won't have this key in your inventory, so where do you find it, and what does the door hold behind the Western Bridge?
The Western Bridge Door and Western Bridge Key are actually nowhere near each other, which is why finding the key can be so confusing. Even if you search all around The Shallows area of the map in No Rest for the Wicked, you won't find the key until you start one specific quest.
That quest is called "Innkeeper's Husband," which you can begin by speaking to an NPC named Caroline. Caroline is located on the outskirts of Sacrament, the game's first major hub town. It's also here where you can start the process of unlocking the respec feature in No Rest for the Wicked.
Of course, Sacrament is only unlocked once you defeat Warrick the Torn, which is the first major boss battle of the game. Warrick the Torn is one of the easier bosses in the grand scheme of things, but he's still extremely difficult for how early you encounter him. You'll need a solid strategy and halfway decent gear to get past the boss.
Once you're in Sacrament, though, find Caroline through a doorway straight ahead after entering the town. Caroline has lost her husband and wants you to find him. Fortunately, you can track this quest from your journal and see exactly where to go. You'll backtrack to The Shallows part of the map and head to a smaller location called Cerim Whisper. Here, there is a tower that has two ladders going up to it, which you need to climb.
Jump over a broken part of the bridge atop the tower to reach the innkeeper's husband, named Gordon, who has an exclamation point above his head. Speak to the innkeeper's husband to progress the quest, but also look right beside him to find a dead body. Loot the dead body to find the Western Bridge Key.
The Western Bridge Door is located in the Mariner's Keep location in The Shallows. You can find the door in the northern part of Mariner's Keep, but if you're still tracking the Innkeeper's Husband quest in No Rest for the Wicked, it will show you where to go.
Opening the Western Bridge Door is a part of the quest, and once you use the key to open the door, you'll have to do some cleanup to complete the quest. Inside the door, there is an archer waiting for you who will begin firing arrows as soon as you enter, so watch out for those and attack the archer with some speed. Next, you have to deal with the Risen Hammer Warrior, a tanky enemy that takes a fair amount of hits to kill.
After defeating the warrior, progress through the hall, and you'll be able to once again reach the innkeeper's husband, who now has an easy way to escape his current predicament. Head back to Sacrament and Caroline to complete the quest, which unlocks a new source of food for you to both craft and purchase.
So, in the end, the Western Bridge Key doesn't unlock riches or top-notch gear in No Rest for the Wicked, but at least now you know what's behind the door.
