How To Find Free Roblox Abyss Star Shards

Star Shards are one of the more important currencies you can get in Abyss, the latest Roblox game to take the platform by storm. While the objective is to upgrade your equipment to explore further and get fish, there are also quests to complete and other activities that reward you with the game's most elusive resource.

Of course, the easiest way is to redeem one of the available Abyss codes and gain all the bonus Star Shards that way, but you can also earn them as daily login bonuses during events, and buy them from the in-game shop. However, there are several other ways you can get Star Shards without paying a thing.

Daily Rewards are a quick way to grab some Star Shards whenever you start up the game.

How to earn free Abyss Star Shards

From what has been put in the game so far, there are five major ways to get Star Shards in Abyss:

Completing any quest will give you money, items, and even some Star Shards.

Complete story quests

One of the major objectives of Abyss is to complete quests. Each one will reward you with a large amount of Star Shards, making finishing them the most effective way to earn this valuable resource. With every major update, new areas and more quests are added to the game, so there are plenty of ways to get more Star Shards.

Opening chests will reward you with a handful of Star Shards and some cash if small like this one, but bigger ones have better rewards.

Open treasure chests

Scattered across the watery areas of Abyss are treasure chests. The smaller ones will only give you a handful of Star Shards, while the bigger ones give more of them. You'll also receive items such as air tanks, cash, and potions, making them worth seeking out.

Finishing the Bestiary will earn you more Star Shards, depending on the rarity of the creature you fish for the first time.

Completing the bestiary

Capturing fish of different rarities for the first time will give you a small amount of Star Shards when you talk to Richard in Forgotten Deep's hub area. You only earn five Star Shards for each common and uncommon fish, but rare fish give you ten Star Shards, and Epic rarities can give you 20. Unfortunately, you don't get a bonus for snagging all the fish in one area or everything in the game.

Each achievement has multiple levels, so you can continue with the quest's objectives to earn more Star Shards.

Finishing Achievements

As you progress, you may see a yellow exclamation mark on top of the rosette symbol in the top left of the screen. This is because you have completed a milestone of sorts and now need to redeem them to earn some Star Shards. Click the rosette to display the achievement list, and also keep track of the progress required to reach the next level of reward. The lowest-tier reward is always five Star Shards, but before long, you'll earn 20 or even 75 for finishing more involved achievements.

Some event quests ask you to complete a quota of collecting exclusive fish mutation types. These can also give you Star Shards if you're quick enough.

Participating in event quests

Events are a great way to earn some Star Shards quickly. In addition to the aforementioned Daily Login rewards, some quests that event NPCs offer can net you some of the Star Shards in addition to the event-exclusive drops. The current event has several Valentine's Day quests, of which at least a few offer this resource as a reward.

The Races tab at the top of the screen brings you to this menu, where you can spend your hard-earned Star Shards on rerolls.

How to spend Abyss Star Shards

The most effective way to spend your hard-earned Star Shards is to roll the Abyss Races table. For each spin (100 Star Shards) or use of a Lucky Reroll (450 Star Shards), you'll get one of the 15 currently available races. You can also buy additional Race slots for 1,000 and 5,000 Star Shards, respectively, but you can only have one race selected at any given time.

The only other way you can spend Star Shards at this time is to finish cracking open geodes automatically, but since these take a short amount of time to get open, it's not currently worth spending money when you could go out fishing instead. With every update, there is sure to be a new way to get Star Shards, so if you have a decent race, it might be worth saving them for the future.
