Fresh off of the release of Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo is bringing back the long out-of-print King K. Rool Amiibo. The reprint of the original Donkey Kong villain--unless you count DK, of course--launches September 11 and is available to preorder at Best Buy. King K. Rool is the first reprint since Nintendo increased original Switch Amiibo prices from $16 to $20.
You can pair King K. Rool with the Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo, which launched alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive in July for $30.
Only a handful of Donkey Kong Amiibo figures have been made over the years, and unfortunately most remain out of print. The Nintendo Store recently restocked the 2016 Diddy Kong Amiibo for $20. Only DK, King K. Rool, Diddy, and Pauline have been turned into Amiibo figures, and the Bananza Amiibo was the first new DK Amiibo since King K. Rool debuted six years ago.
Reseller prices for a few of the out-of-print Donkey Kong Amiibo figures aren't bad when you consider each one would retail for $20 if reprinted today.
All Donkey Kong Lego Sets at Amazon:
Just like Amiibo, Donkey Kong and his crew have only been featured in a handful of Lego sets. Five retail building sets, to be exact. Lego retired all four of the DK-themed sets from the Lego Super Mario lineup late last year, but Amazon restocked all of them ahead of Donkey Kong Bananza's release. A couple of the sets are discounted, too. Donkey Kong is also part of the Lego Mario Kart line, which debuted earlier this year and is very much still in print. Fans can get Donkey Kong and his DK Jumbo barrel kart for $29.49 (was $35) at Amazon.
