New Game Of Thrones Game Officially Revealed For Mobile

Warner Bros. Games and HBO have released a new trailer for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, an upcoming free-to-play mobile game based on the prequel series House of the Dragon.

A strategy game set 172 years before Daenerys Targaryen was born, Dragonfire is developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston and takes inspiration from events from the TV series. You play as a Valyrian descendant who has to hatch, raise, and fly dragons in battle to dominate Westeros.

The game features familiar characters from the show--including Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower--as well as original characters created for the game, and like the show, players need to strategize and form alliances to come out on top. Check out the trailer below.

Dragonfire lets players journey through "campaigns," which are described as "epic scenarios" that last around eight weeks, with different objectives and story moments in each. Each stage of a campaign only lasts for a set time, so players are driven to stay engaged. Each campaign has specific goals that players can strive for to get more powerful dragons to help in future, more challenging campaigns.

You can read more about Dragonfire on the game's website. It's just the latest Game of Thrones game for mobile, following Game of Thrones: Conquest.

Everyone can pre-register for access to Dragonfire now on the App Store, Google Play, and the game's website. Everyone who pre-registers will get an in-game reward at launch, along with a notification of when the game becomes available to download.

Dragonfire was officially announced today, but the game has been available for some time already in select markets as part of an early testing environment.

Game of Thrones is one of four major pillars that WB Games is focusing on going forward, the others behind DC, Harry Potter, and Mortal Kombat. WB Games parent company Warner Bros. Discovery has entered into a deal to be acquired by Paramount, and the acquisition is said to close this year. It remains to be seen what changes, if any, are planned for WB Games as a result of the buyout.
