Roblox For PS5 Now Has 30% Faster Load Times With Native Version Launch

It's a big day for Roblox on PlayStation 5, as Roblox Corp. has launched a native version of the game for Sony's console, promising upgrades like 30% faster load times and a "smoother and more responsive" version overall. A native version of Roblox for Xbox Series X|S launched in September 2025.

Roblox is a platform that hosts games, and Sony spoke with Roblox creators about the new native edition of Roblox and what it offers. For the NFL Universe Football game, a developer from Voldex said the team can now add more content without fear of the performance impact.

"The door is wide open for us to test the boundaries on what's possible. I'm excited to see how we can push our visuals even further," the studio explained.

The Roblox horror game Scary Shawarma Kiosk is seeing improvements, too. The developers said, "We finally have a platform that lets players experience the game as we envisioned it."

Roblox's native version for PS5 launching after the Xbox Series X|S edition is not a big surprise, as Roblox didn't come to PlayStation at all until 2023. This was eight years after the Xbox One version arrived in 2015.

The new native version of Roblox for PS5 arrives just ahead of Roblox's big new update in June that adds age-based accounts and other new features to help protect children. Roblox is rolling out these changes seemingly in response to the numerous lawsuits and other negative headlines.
